Orange Wines in Autumn

The joy of orange wines is that they can combine the weight, texture and complexity of red wines with the freshness and verve of white.

Orange wines have the texture and complexity we often associate with reds, while retaining the freshness of whites. Their earthy, savoury character also makes them a natural fit for the flavours of autumn.

We love having a few different styles of orange wine on the list at Daróg, including one of our longstanding favourites, Iago Bitarishvili’s Chinuri from Kartli in eastern Georgia. Made in qvevri, a traditional terracotta vessel, it’s full of dried apricot, spice and honey, with robust yet integrated tannins and a finish like sea breeze.
