On Monday 11th May, as part of Blas na Bealtaine, A Taste of Galway, join us at Daróg Wine Bar for Turas Fíona, a wine journey through Central Europe with Zsolt Lukács, Michelin Sommelier of the Year 2025, and food and wine writer Cathal McBride.
Central Europe holds a special place in Zsolt’s story and continues to shape the wine philosophy at Daróg. This relaxed and informative tasting explores a region known for its diversity, indigenous grape varieties and strong sense of place. Throughout the evening, Zsolt and Cathal will guide guests through a curated wine flight of five wines, paired with a cheese board, while exploring the relationship between wine and food, and sharing insights into the regions, traditions and producers behind each glass.
Based in Galway, Cathal McBride is a food and wine writer with a passion for all types of gastronomy, wine and spirits. He draws on years of experience to offer insight into pairing wine with food, while helping to break down barriers of accessibility so that everyone can enjoy the wonders of the wine world.
Blas na Bealtaine celebrates Galway’s vibrant food culture with a series of unique culinary experiences across the month of May. We are delighted to be part of this year’s programme and to welcome guests for another Turas Fíona.
