Thorsten Melsheimer of Weingut Melsheimer, Mosel Valley, Germany
TURAS FÍONA WITH THORSTEN MELSHEIMER
Join us for a special evening in the Mosel Valley — home to some of the world’s most expressive Rieslings and steepest vineyards. On Wednesday, 3rd September, we welcome Thorsten Melsheimer, the fifth-generation winemaker behind Weingut Melsheimer, a pioneering biodynamic estate rooted in tradition, terroir, and sustainability.
Since taking over the family winery in the early 1990s, Thorsten has transformed the 11-hectare estate into a beacon of organic and biodynamic viticulture. Farming some of the Mosel’s steepest slate slopes — including the revered Reiler Mullay-Hofberg vineyard — he produces wines that are full of energy, depth and purity, shaped by nature and made with intention.
His approach is guided by time, patience, and trust in the land. The results are compelling: alive, structured, and elegant expressions of Riesling that speak of place and care.
