Our next Turas Fíona, Wine Talk & Tasting, welcomes Hungarian winemaker Endre Szászi Jr. to Daróg for an evening exploring the wines and stories of Badacsony.

Endre is part of the family behind SZÁSZI Birtok, an organic estate in Hungary’s Badacsony wine region, where he works alongside his father and sister. Their vineyards grow on volcanic basalt soils, with a focus on indigenous varieties including Olaszrizling, Furmint and Csókaszőlő.

A winemaking poet with a passion for wine, history and storytelling, Endre brings the wines to life through engaging anecdotes and a touch of humour. His family’s wines are fresh, precise and full of character, with labels featuring paintings by his mother.

Alongside Daróg owner and sommelier Zsolt Lukács, Endre will guide us through six wines from the Szászi Estate, exploring the region, its grape varieties and the stories behind each bottle. The tasting will include a selection of sparkling wine, crisp whites and joyful reds, accompanied by a cheeseboard.
