BRÍD FANNING
Raised Among Them by Bríd Fanning opens at Daróg on Wednesday 1st July 2026 and runs until Monday 7th September 2026.
The exhibition explores growing up on a small farm in County Meath, surrounded by animals and the rhythms of rural life. Through bold colour and layered texture, Fanning reflects on memory, belonging, and the quiet imprint of place.
Working primarily in oils and cold wax applied with a palette knife, alongside acrylics, her paintings draw from Irish landscapes, people, wildlife, and cultural heritage. The work is rooted in her upbringing in Oldcastle, where early farm life shaped a lasting connection to land and nature.
Alongside her original paintings, Fanning produces limited edition fine art prints and handcrafted lamps, all made in Ireland.
Originally trained in Visual Communications, she worked as a graphic design consultant across architecture, finance, online gaming, animal nutrition, marketing and advertising in Ireland, the USA, and Australia. She later developed her fine art practice through studies at the National College of Art and Design, completing programmes in Drawing and Contemporary Art Practice and Colour Theory.
Her work has been shown nationally and internationally, including at SHOWCASE with Design & Crafts Council Ireland, Bord Bia Bloom Craft Village, and ART SOURCE at the RDS. She was also featured on RTÉ Nationwide in a special programme marking 50 years of SHOWCASE. Her work is held in private collections across Ireland, the USA, Canada, Australia, the UK, and mainland Europe.
Fanning is a graduate of the ACORNS programme and the Enterprise Ireland Get Exporting Programme, and has been recognised by ThinkBusiness as one of Ireland’s “Female Entrepreneurs to Watch.” She is a founding member of Meath Made and is supported by Meath Arts Office and Creative Ireland.
